Historic Sarasota Space Transforms into Aleur Event Collective: A New Event Venue

Many locals fondly recall the corner of Central Avenue and 10th Street for its vibrant, circus-themed facade that housed Circus City Architectural Salvage. For a decade, this store offered a unique collection of Americana and circus memorabilia. Since its closure in 2020, the space has remained vacant, but that’s about to change.

This fall, Sarasota native Amber Bixby, along with her father Michael, will open Aleur Event Collective in the former Circus City space. Although the 1954 building isn’t officially historic, its original features like exposed brick walls and wood-beamed ceilings will be integrated into the new venue’s design. The outdoor area will become a lush garden, while the interior will feature polished concrete floors and glass doors to enhance natural light.

Bixby’s vision combines natural elements, earthy tones, deep greens, and velvet accents for a modern, upscale, and industrial vibe. The venue will accommodate weddings, corporate functions, and public gatherings, with space for up to 300 guests. Bixby, with a background in event venues, has crafted competitive wedding packages and plans to host events like Friendsgiving dinners.

Located on the edge of the Rosemary District, Aleur Event Collective offers a convenient, versatile space close to downtown Sarasota, ready to serve as a memorable backdrop for a variety of events.
