Living Arts Festival 2024: A Weeklong Celebration of Sarasota's Cultural Renaissance

In less than six weeks, Sarasota is poised to witness an unprecedented cultural extravaganza. While the city has hosted renowned art festivals like the Ringling International Arts Festival and the Sarasota International Chalk Festival, this November brings something entirely new: the Living Arts Festival. Spanning November 10-17, this groundbreaking event, organized by the nonprofit Sarasota Rising, promises to unite the area’s diverse arts organizations in a celebration aimed at solidifying Sarasota’s status as Florida’s Gulf Coast cultural epicenter.

In its debut year, the Living Arts Festival will feature a rich tapestry of curated events, premieres by established groups, and specially commissioned works. Festivities kick off with a pre-festival “Living Arts Festival Fete” on November 8, followed by a family-friendly arts exhibition on November 9. The official opening on November 10 launches with “A World of the ARTS,” a rooftop bash celebrating Sarasota’s global artistic influences. Highlights include “Our Embrace Reimagined,” a collaborative performance at Marie Selby Gardens’ Historic Spanish Point, and “All Roads Lead to Venice,” showcasing Venice’s vibrant arts scene. “Arts Roulette” offers attendees a chance to win tickets to festival events, culminating in “Sarasota Rising –Celebrating Our Youth,” a grand finale at the Circus Arts Conservatory’s Sailor Circus Arena featuring performances by local youth programs.

Mark your calendars for the Living Arts Festival, November 10-17, 2024, and join Sarasota in celebrating its artistic diversity and community spirit.
