Luxury Home Market Heats Up: Modern Marvel in Lido Shores Sells for $12.8 Million Cash

The luxury home market in Lido Shores is sizzling, with a modern marvel at 1325 Westway Drive recently selling for $12.8 million cash. Originally purchased for $2.2 million in 2010, the previous owners, who had a distinguished career at Hasbro, replaced the 2,000 sq ft ranch-style home with this architectural gem designed by Mark Sultana of DSDG Architects and built by Voigt Brothers Construction.

Today, building such a home would cost around $10 million due to rising labor and material costs. The project took less than a year to complete and incorporates elements of the midcentury Sarasota School of Architecture, such as clerestory windows, simple lines, and extensive use of glass. It’s situated near the famed Umbrella House and has been featured in Sarasota MOD Weekend home tours.

The three-story home features a guesthouse, courtyard, pool area with a summer kitchen, fire bowls, and a bridge. The main house has three bedrooms, while the guesthouse adds two more. Amenities include a deepwater dock, two boat lifts, a waterside hot tub, and a rooftop terrace with a putting green.

Despite a calmer local real estate market this year, the luxury segment is thriving. Recent notable sales include a condo for $11.35 million, a Longboat Key compound for $19.75 million, and a Harbor Acres home for $20 million. Another home on the same street is listed for $25.7 million.

Lido Shores remains a prime location for those seeking modern luxury and architectural heritage, making it one of Sarasota’s most desirable neighborhoods.
