Rufa, The Ritz-Carlton’s Newest Restaurant, Opens This Thursday

The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota is launching Rufa, a new outdoor dining spot, on Thursday, Oct. 3. Located alongside the popular Jack Dusty restaurant, Rufa offers a 64-seat al fresco setting in soothing sage, yellow, and pink tones.

Named after the rufa red knot bird, Rufa celebrates Sarasota’s local charm and its seasonal visitors. The menu features creative small bites like smoked avocado guacamole, beef tenderloin tacos, and grilled octopus with Mexican chorizo and chipotle sauce. Standout dishes include al pastor chicken skewers and lobster tostadas, blending American and Mexican flavors.

Overseen by executive sous chef Andrew Thompson, Rufa’s menu is designed for sharing, while lead bartender Heidi Finley curates a craft cocktail selection. Her award-winning creations include the “Golden Eagle,” a bourbon-forward drink with banana oleo and a smoked finish, and the gin-based “Red Knot”, topped with egg white foam and edible flowers.

Rufa opens Oct. 3 at The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota, 1111 Ritz Carlton Drive. Hours are 4-10 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday; 4-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. No reservations are required.
